Safe Kids South Carolina, led by The Children’s Trust of South Carolina, is pleased to announce the 2010- 2011 Safety and Prevention Calendar contest. This annual ‘kids safety calendar’ is designed to help raise awareness of the number one killer and disabler of children - preventable injuries. The childhood injury rate in South Carolina is one and a half times higher than the national average; hopefully we can help change these statistics by educating children and families with the calendar’s monthly safety messages.

We are counting on your participation again this year. Students who enter are asked to draw a picture depicting a safety message. *To obtain a copy of the calendar contest rules and safety tips please use the downloads below. The top three pieces of student artwork from each school will receive a Certificate of Participation. Thirteen winners, a calendar cover and 12 monthly winners, will be chosen and invited to attend an unveiling ceremony. Each student will receive two certificates, one for their school and one for him/her self and a $50 gift certificate.

Again, we need you and your students to make the 2010-2011 calendar a success; working together we can help protect our children from preventable injuries
