Looking for advice, tips or help with finding local resources?

Here are some organizations that will jump-start your search.

Healthy Families
Healthy Families is based on a nationwide model of home visitation services designed to help expectant and new parents get their children off to a healthy start. The program promotes positive parenting and child health and development. For more information about this program, visit their Web site.

Parents Anonymous
Parents Anonymous groups are valuable for parents who want to improve relationships with their children. Parents learn better parenting and coping skills from other parents, in part by discovering strengths within themselves. They, in turn, can share their techniques and successes with other parents. The groups meet weekly, are professionally facilitated and offer free child care. For more information, visit the Parents Anonymous of South Carolina, Inc. Web site.

Child Welfare Information Gateway
A service of the Children's Bureau, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Child Welfare Information Gateway promotes the safety, permanency, and well-being of children, youth, and families by connecting child welfare, adoption, and related professionals as well as the general public to information, resources, and tools covering topics on child welfare, child abuse and neglect, out-of-home care, adoption, and more.
