Strengthening Families with Protective Factors

Child abuse and neglect are preventable, but no one is immune. Cutting across all socio-economic, ethnic, religious and geographical lines, children who are abused are at a higher risk for crime, substance abuse, dropping out of school, and teen pregnancy.

Across the country, child welfare professionals are using the Strengthening Families approach to build Protective Factors in families:

  • Parental resilience
  • Social connections
  • Knowledge of parenting and child development
  • Concrete support in times of need
  • Children’s social and emotional development

If you are interested in scheduling training for your group, we would love to visit your part of South Carolina. You'll need at least 15 people and a meeting space.

The fee is $10 per person, Children's Trust of South Carolina provides all handouts and materials. If you require an evening or early morning time and you are more than 100 miles from Columbia, South Carolina, additional travel costs may be applicable.
