Parent Cafés to Build Protective Factors

Do you work with parents? Are you looking for an engaging way to serve your community? Parent Cafés may be just what you are looking for!  The goal is to directly engage participants in discussions about protective factors that strengthen families and build community.

Structured as a series of five sessions that can happen wherever parents feel comfortable coming together—early childhood centers, churches, schools, community centers, any friendly environment— parents meet in small group conversations, facilitated by a “host”, to discuss questions and issues important to them.

The Children’s Trust of South Carolina has held host orientations in Columbia, Greenville and Florence and we want to come to your community. If you would be interested in a host orientation, please contact Lydia Freeman by phone, 803-744-4027 or e-mail at lfreeman@scchildren.org.
