Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP) Grants

Just as it takes a range of services — social, support, legal, medical and educational — to build strong families and stop child abuse and neglect, it also takes services centered in communities, where families who need help can access it easily. That's the idea behind Community Based Child Abuse Prevention grants, a federal program created in 1985 to help states provide matching money to agencies or organizations offering child-centered, family-focused solutions.
In South Carolina, the grants are administered by The Children's Trust of South Carolina and funded by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Administration for Children and Families in Washington, D.C. The Children's Trust is the designated lead agency in South Carolina and serve as the state's Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board.
