Preventing injuries: at home, at play, and on the way.

Safe Kids South Carolina works to prevent unintentional childhood injury, the leading killer of children 14 and under. Safe Kids South Carolina is a member of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network of organizations dedicated to preventing unintentional injury. Founded in 1994, Safe Kids South Carolina is led by The Children’s Trust of South Carolina.

Safe Kids South Carolina aims to teach families to do simple things all the time to prevent unintentional injuries and base our programs on credible data about injuries, so that they address real problems. Safe Kids knows that almost all unintentional injuries are preventable, and works so that no child will have to suffer from their consequences.

Unintentional injuries is the number one cause of death among children ages 14 and under in the United States. Also, each year one out of every four children needs medical attention for an accidental injury.
