Strategic Initiatives

Our goal is to build strong, stable families where children are treasured. One way we do that is by backing a statewide network of quality programs and skilled leaders who realize the best way to prevent child abuse is to provide families with the support they need, where they need it most - in their own communities.

Our support of strong families, safe children has several facets. It starts with leadership - we bring together people with track records of interest and action in helping families, and work with a variety of agencies - government, for-profit and nonprofit - to emphasize prevention as a strategy.

Training is a key component; we're a statewide resource center for technical help and leadership development. We build communities by educating and engaging the public about the true causes of child abuse and neglect and how to prevent it. By identifying programs and techniques that work, advocates in communities across the state can build on solid foundations. We also invest in replicating programs with quantifiable success and pilot programs with innovative approaches and strategies aimed at preventing child abuse and neglect.
